Residue @ Vox Populi

Residue is a group exhibition curated by film & video art organization Krissy Talking Pictures (KTP). The exhibition, hosted in Vox Populi’s Black Box space, brings together new experimental video work by nine interdisciplinary artists from KTP’s network. Queer ecologies, spacial politics, friendship, surveillance, and post capitalism/consumerism are investigated, played with, glitched, and moved through via the moving image, utilizing projection, installation, sculpture, performance, and sound as supporting tools. Together, the work conjures an image of residue: “a small amount of something that remains after the main part has gone or been taken or used.” Residue is a substance that is sticky, left-over, and at times invisible; but is also one that can hold things together, exist in the in-between.

Artists: Cherry Nin, Rat Porridge, Florence Fire, France Rreally, Sam HaffertyCal Fish, Alejandra Castro Chavez, Natasha Onion, Alice Aster

Residue opens September 9th 2022 and is available for viewing through October 19th. In conjunction with the exhibition there will be a two night performance event at Vox Populi on October 6th & 7th 2022.

Double Dare @ Rhizome DC

Double Dare was an exhibition curated by KTP at Rhizome DC. The show was a celebration of doubles, alternatives, and imaginary worlds. Bringing together video art, new media/VR, interactive installation, and works on paper, the show itself was doubled, existing both in the Rhizome DC galleries and online on Krissy Talking Picture’s website.
